The 2 Chimeras were just to the right of them, blocking line of sight to his other units, that were hidden behind the crates holding one of their objectives.<br />

I bolstered our ruin with the Master of the Forge for the 3+ cover save, and hid all of my tanks behind crates.<br />

I did place the Vindy in the middle of the ruin because, you know, go big or go home right?<br />

Both Landspeeders were in reserve.<br />

Capnmoe put Coteaz, the Lazer Monkeys and the Warband in our ruins for the cover save.<br />
Aquila located behind them, which is easy to see below in the picture because its fucking huge (That's what she said) Inquisitor inside with Prescience.<br />

The new Warhammer 40k league began at <a href="http://www.fantasybooksinc.com/">Fantasy Books and Games</a>. It had been awhile since I played 40k because of our raging Warmachine obsession, and was really nice to get back into it. It's a 2 headed giant league where each team brings two 1000k lists. We rolled up 5 objectives for our Crusade mission. He won the rolls to choose sides and to go first. Objectives were placed and are circled in the picture below. There was no night fighting turn 1. I got 3 units for my Grand Masters Grand Strategy and chose to outflank all of my Acolytes in Razorbacks. With all of his S6+ shooting on the board I didn't want to take the chance of them giving up first blood. Our final deployments can be seen in the picture. I rolled to steal the initiative and did!</div>

On my first turn I rolled for psychic powers and failed one and rolled a perils on boxcars for the other. This was the dice gods punishing me for stealing the initiative I'm sure. I shunted my Dreadknights up 30" and attempted to get first blood on the Termagaunts and the Zoanthrope in the corner. Sadly I would do no wounds to the Zoanthrope and would leave 1 Termagaunt alive. Both of the Dreadnoughts fired at a Harpy which made an ass load of 5+ cover saves. After all the shots I only managed to do 3-4 wounds to it. Coteaz and his unit took 3 wounds from a Flyrant that was just out of range of the Venomethropes 5+ cover save area.<br />

He moved one Flyrant out after the 2 Dreadknights, one to the opposite flank, and one straight after Coteaz's unit. Everything else pushed forward up behind his Aegis. Shots into Coteaz would kill half the unit. Shots into the Dreadknights would do nothing. The Crone took one hull point from a Dreadnought.<br />

All of my reserves came in except for 1 unit of Terminators. I had 2 Razorbacks outflank one side and 1 outflank on the other. The unit of Terminators deep struck into the back field to support the Dreadknights. One Dreadknight moved up to attack and kill the Zoanthrope and the other flamed the last Termaguant for First blood. The Dreadnoughts and Coteaz's unit attempted to take out the red Flyrant and failed. Shots from the 2 Razorbacks near the bottom of the picture took out the black and red Flyrant.<br />

He had a unit of Warriors and 2 units of Termagaunts arrive from reserve which he walked on the board near my Dreadknights. Shooting from them and the Exocrine wound kill all but 1 Terminator and one of the Dreadknights. He attempted to assault the other Dreadknight with a Harpy but didn't do enough wounds to kill it. The Dreadknight then used its force weapon to insta-gib it. His red Flyrant would end up shooting Coteaz and his unit off the board leaving himself open on the ground for shooting next turn. One Harpy multi assaulted my 2 Razorbacks and whiffed all of its attacks. The Crone took another hull point from one of my Dreadnoughts.<br />

Turn 3 my last unit of Terminators and the Grand Master came on and deep struck near my quad gun. They would shoot and kill the red Flyrant. The 2 Razorbacks that were assaulted by the Harpy backed up and fired on it taking him down. The Dreadnoughts killed off the Warriors which were providing Synapse to his rear Termagaunts. The Dreadknight flamed and killed nearly all of one units of Termagaunts. While the Razorback and terminator killed a few from the other. One of the Termagaunt units would fail its leadership and run off of the board.<br />

In his turn 3 he flew the Crone off the board. He assaulted the remaining Termaguants and Carnifex into my Dreadknight. The Carnifex failed his charge and the Dreadknight killed 2 Gaunts. He was back in range of Synapse so the combat continued. Shots from the Exocrine would destroy my assault cannon Razorback, killing 2 guys inside and pinning the unit.<br />

My turn 4 I moved the lower Razorback forward and disembarked. I fired the Razoback and both of the Acolyte units at the Termagaunts holding the objective, killing all but 3. The Terminators ran onto an objective. I disembarked the Acolytes from the upper Razorback and ran them towards the objective as well. The Dreadknight killed a few more Gaunts.<br />

In his turn 4 the Crone came back on and vector struck the upper Razorback destroying it. The Exocrine and remaining Gaunts tried to kill the remaining Acolytes but failed. His Carnifex finally made it into combat with the Gaunts and the Dreadknight but it was too late. The Dreadknight killed off the rest of the Gaunts before the Carnifex killed him. This left him with only 1 scoring unit on the board.<br />

In my turn 5 I moved both of the Acolyte units on the bottom up to hold the objective. One unit would assault the 1 remaining Gaunt for shits and giggles and kill it. The Terminators on the quad gun killed the Crone. In his turn he moved the Carnifex to contest the upper objective and failed to kill the Acolytes off of the objective on the bottom with the rest of his force.</div>

I played in the final round of the Titan Tournament at Ogres this weekend along with 11 of the best players from the area. I played in 3 out of the 4 qualifier events and placed top 3 in 2. That meant I had my choice of bringing Necrons with or without an ally, or Tau/Eldar because those were the armies I placed with previously. My first game was against Necrons and was against a familiar opponent. Usually I find myself on the bad end of an ass whooping against this competitor. This time however, my dice were hot and I managed to pull out a 13-5 victory winning the primary (4x Objectives), tying the secondary (Kill the opposing Warlord), and getting 1 tertiary (First Blood). Highlights include my first shot from a Riptide taking out both of his Command Barges. Fire Warriors rolling 6 out of 6, 6's to hit a Nighscythe and take it out of the sky. Warp Spiders also did some work weakening one of his Overlords and dropping a Nightscythe at a critical point in the game as well as refusing to die to mass fire.<br />

My second pairing was against Imperial Guard/Inquisition. Primary was Emperors Will (2 Objectives), Secondary was Table Quarters with a Dawn of War deployment. This was a very close game. He had a blob squad of 40 guys with a 4+ invulnerable and stubborn, which he marched directly for my objective. Had he chose to camp the blob on his objective I have no doubt that he would have won. Sadly for him, he chose not to. I focused all of my fire on his objective and cleared it by the last turn. I turbo boosted my jet bikes onto my own objective to contest his blob which had finally made it there, and sent my 2nd jet bike squad to take his objective for the win. Final score was 12-5. Highlights were jet bike shenanigans and the Wraithknight taking out an Executioner, Vanquisher, and 2 units of guardsman.<br />

The final game was against Slaanesh CSMs/Imperial Guard. Primary was Victory Points (Had to be 185 points above your opponent to win), secondary 3x Objectives with a Vanguard deployment. This was another nail biter game that came down to the last turn. Just like the previous game, turbo boosting shenanigans from the jet bikes netted me the victory. I was above on Victory Points but not high enough, so we tied Primary. I still took secondary though as well as Last Laugh (Whoever kills the last unit). The game ended 11-6.<br />

I was super pleased with my performance for the day. Though I won all my games, my overall point total wasn't enough for first place. I did take second though and walked away with a bunch of great prizes! I'm looking SO forward to getting the Aquila Strongpoint on the table and bolstering my other armies with the new additions. HOORAY!<br />

During my turn the Black 13th moved up and took out Narn with extreme prejudice before he could get to my Journeyman Warcaster. My Ironclad charged and killed a Mage Hunter and the Arcane Tempest Gun Mages moved up and killed the rest of the unit using Deadeye from Haley. The Professor shot at the Griffon and knocked it down while the Charger used it's special shots to nearly kill it.<br />

His Chimera Charged my Charger and destroyed his hammer arm making it very difficult for me to ever kill it. His Griffon stood up. His Phoenix charged my Ironclad and just pooped all over his cheerios, lighting him on fire and Nearly Killing him. His Arcanist and Garryth moved up.<br />

In my turn I foolishly charged the Chimera with my Journeyman Warcaster and did nothing. The Ironclad did some minor damage to the Phoenix. The Professor attempted to knock down the Griffon again and failed. The Arcane Tempest Gun Mages moved up to shoot at Garryth for the assassination victory, but I foolishly forgot to fire them. I also moved the Black 13th up to shoot Garryth but forgot to fire them as well. I'm still too caught up in the rules from 40k to remember to take all of my actions during my activation phase instead of moving everything, shooting, then assaulting. Sadly I missed my opportunity to win the game because of my poor memory.<br />

I would pay for my mistakes this turn as the Phoenix would use Combustion to kill the Ironclad and a few Gun Mages. The Chimera smashed the Journeyman Warcaster in to goo rendering the Charger inert. The Griffon moved up to confront the Professor. Garryth and The archaist moved back toward the ruins<br />

The only thing I could do was retreat with Haley towards my board edge. The Black 13th moved to take shots on Garryth doing some damage but failing to kill him. The remaning Arcane Tempest Gun Mages took shots but failed.<br />

His Phoenix would kill the the remaining Gun Mages and a combination of shots from Garryth himself and the Chimera charging would take out the Black 13th.<br />
<br />
At this point I only had Haley and her Squire left so I tried to make a suicide assassination run on his caster only to fail killing him by, I think, 3 HP's. After that he charged Haley with Garryth and easily chopped her into bits.<br />

The number one lesson we learned about this game was to ALWAYS remember to shoot your guys. It would have been a very different game had he remembered to shoot at me with his Mage Hunters turn 1 or if I had remembered to fire my Gun Mages and Black 13th on turn 2. All in all, a great and fun game. Can't wait to play my next.</div>

Makers and I got our second game of Warmachine in last night. We played 15 points and our main focus was learning how units function. Turns out, it is way different from the way Warhammer 40k units function. </div>

There's no need to maintain unit coherency beyond staying in the unit leaders command range, which for us was 9". And unit members don't all need to fire on the same target. </div>

Sadly I lost (I lost our first game as well) but it was a fun loss. I have a tendency to just run my units forward and run them into, or shoot at the first possible thing they can reach when learning a new game. Not always the best tactic but it makes for a good learning experience.<br />

The first game we played I used Garryth who is more of an Assassin type Warcaster, or HQ for the Warhammer people. Kaelyssa is more of a buff/debuff type.<br />
<br />
I'm not sure which one I like more so far, but both have their advantages.<br />
<br />
So far I am enjoying the game alot. It seems to be faster paced and a lot more about strategy and planning ahead. For example, last night I used my Phoenix to see his Warjack on fire, then used Kaelyssa to immobilize it for a turn, causing him to take alot of damage on it. Then by using Narn (a "smaller" Garryth type character) I was able to kill his Journeyman Warcaster to all but remove his other one from the game as well thanks to a well placed Rift from Kaelyssa.<br />
<br />
I also enjoy how the units work. You can spread them out to a great distance and each one acts independently, almost the same as 40k 2nd Edition, which tends to give each model more of a personalized feel, rather than just being one normal guy.<br />
<br />
We are still learning and I think last night was just a rare occurence as Capnmoe's dice were extremely cold, and my Phoenix just kept recharging 5-6 shield points a turn.<br />

Hopefully I can get in a good amount of painting this weekend on my guys and post some shots up next week.<br />

I finished my two heavy Warjacks this week. The first is the Centurion and the second is the Ironclad. I'm not a big fan of the stump on the Ironclad scenic base. I may do some more work on it. Tonight Makers and I are gonna play our first game. I'm stoked.<br />

It's been a rough week for me. Last Thursday I had to have an emergency appendectomy. So with a 7 inch incision in my belly and a bunch of pain killers in my system, I haven't been able to do much of anything other than sleep, paint, and play video games. Needless to say I got some work done on my Cygnar with my free time. I completed my Journeyman Warcaster, Charger, and Sentinel. Super stoked with the way this army is turning out. I have all of my Solos and Light Warjacks finished now. Up next is my Heavy Warjacks.</div>

I got a decent amount of work done this weekend. I assembled the Arcane Tempest Gun Mages, sanded every models base, primed them all, and got them all base coated and shaded with the airbrush. I even managed to finish one of the solos, Viktor Pendrake. Hope he plays as good as he looks. Next up is the Squire solo and the 3 Warcasters.<br />

So, I recently got a good amount of Cygnar Warmachine models in a trade. I'd always heard that the game was really well balanced and a great system so I wanted to check it out. Thus, I traded away the Imperial portion of my Star Wars X-wing collection to get my foot in the door. While my normal gaming store <a href="http://www.fantasybooksinc.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=11&Itemid=116">Fantasy Books and Games</a> doesn't have much of a following for Warmachine/Hordes, their sister store <a href="http://www.fantasybooksinc.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13&Itemid=117">Heroic Adventures</a> does. And as luck would have it, their Warmachine/Hordes night is Thursday, which is the same night that I normally play Warhammer 40k. That's nice because now I don't have to ask the wife if she minds me going out to play an extra night during the week. So I decided I would do some research, grab a few more models and the faction deck, get the army painted up, and go learn the game.<br />

Everyone started copying them.<br />

How did they fix it?<br />
MLB changed their rules.<br />

And at the end of day GW makes our rules.<br />

Are the rules currently broken?<br />
In my opinion yes, but that is GW's fault not ours.<br />

The product is failing because of this and over time will cause them to lose more customers and more money.<br />

Personally, I think it is absolutely amazing that there haven't been new FAQs out to address these issues.<br />

I mean seriously... they haven't even FAQ'd the Burning Chariot of Tzeentch yet correctly...and that codex came out a year ago.<br />

If GW does not address these issues, then people will stop playing their game and move on to other games.<br />

A lot of people in my area have already switched to things like X-Wing, Drop Zone Commander or Warmachine because they no longer enjoy the competitive scene of 40k.<br />

I like competition and I believe it is not my place to tell someone else what they can and cannot bring to a tournament. If it's currently legal, bring whatever you want. Yes it may be difficult to play against, and yes it will most likely be a challenge, but the key here is to look at it as a learning opportunity for next time.<br />

Too many people expect the game to be "fair" and by fair I mean "the odds in their favor."<br />
People hate to have to work for something.<br />
<br />
I've seen far to many people watch their opponent put a Riptide, Wraithknight or even something like a Land Raider on the table and you can tell they have already given up.<br />
<br />
The question is where does it stop?<br />
Is everyone just supposed to only use troops?<br />
No more Monstrous Creatures?<br />
No more ++ saves?<br />
The everyone would complain that the game is far too boring and there is never anything new...<br />
<br />
It's far easier to sit and complain from behind a computer screen than to actually make the effort to make a better list, work on it, practice, then beat the new "IT" list.<br />
<br />
And maybe, here's a thought, provide some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.<br />
<br />
I do think GW is hurting the competitive nature of their own game, but I also believe that the whining, bitching and moaning players out there are making it worse.<br />

I have been debating as to whether or not to make this post, but I felt it was unfair to not follow up to my previous post.<br />

Late last month CapnMoe and I had the privilege of attending a charity 40k tournament that was hosted by a few friends of ours known as<a href="http://www.gateway-gamers.com/"> Gateway Gamers</a>.<br />

This event consisted of 1000 point army lists and the only entry fee was to bring a toy for donation.<br />
<br />
There were numerous door prizes for all players at no extra cost and all game boards were cut in half, so each game was on a 4'x4' area.<br />
<br />
I believe there were about 30 people that showed up total, most of which were fellow gamers that we have had the pleasure of playing with for the past few years, so it was a very casual atmosphere.<br />
<br />
I had only ever played Tau once before, and decided to bring them to this event to get some more practice in.<br />

My turn was extremely lack luster. His Overlord had moved into the middle of the board by himself so I put all of my focus into taking him out as soon as possible. Sadly he was left with 1 wound remaining.</div>

The Overlord ended up getting into assault with one of my Riptides, mind-shackled it, and he killed himself. </div>

I did manage to kill his Overlord eventually.<br />
I moved my Commander from the Broadsides to the other Riptide and started gaining ground.</div>

In the end he clearly had the board advantage, but I only lost by a few points.</div>

My opponent was a really nice guy, and he knew that I wasn't feeling well.<br />
He was a really good sport and we talked for a bit after the game about his list and other things.</div>

I was paired up against a Tyranid player, and immediately a friend of mine named Jeff warned me about him.<br />

I went to lunch before this game and I stuffed myself with pasta and bread so I was feeling much better.</div>

My opponent was running a Flyrant, 2 Tervigons, a unit of 3 Guard, 2 units of Gants and 1 unit of Genestealers.</div>

With Monster Hunter on my Broadsides from the Commander I wasn't too worried.</div>

Game was Kill Points Primary with Troops units being worth double points. </div>

With his Tervigons cranking out small units, I was just going to castle up and let him come to me.</div>

I took out most of his Genestealers on turn 1 from broadsides, and put a few more wounds on his Flyrant from the Riptides.</div>

I'm not sure if he was greatly upset about that, but on his 1st turn he took the game to a dark place...<br />

It first started with the Gants.<br />
They were all painted differently and he kept moving them in large hordes.<br />
I made sure to keep asking him which units were which, for scoring purposes, and I could tell he was trying to "merge" them together.<br />
<br />
Then he started arguing about placing templates.<br />
(<i>He stated that if you place a blast template over a model, the template has to be placed over the center of the model.</i>)<br />
<br />
Then every rule had to be verified in the book, every option had to be checked and then verified by a judge, everything I did was questioned, etc...others around me started to notice.<br />
(<i>He did not believe that Broadsides had Supporting Fire, and then argued with me that Broadsides and Riptides cannot fire more than one weapon per turn.)</i><br />
<br />
To make matters worse, he was the kind of guy that would cheer really loud when he had a good dice roll, then made a scene when he didn't.<br />
<br />
The longer the game went on, the worse it got and by the end of turn 3 I didn't care anymore.<br />
<br />
I have never quit in the middle of a game before, but this guy was pushing it.<br />
He was extremely arrogant and stated many times that he had played Tau multiple times before, yet he kept asking me questions about my units.<br />
Then when I would tell him, he would look me in the face and say "Prove it."<br />
<br />
I swallowed my pride and just finished up the game as I was solidly winning.<br />
Game ends.<br />
<br />
Then the arguing started again.<br />
Random Gants started appearing, the number of units came into question again, etc...<br />
<br />
I also forgot to mention that this was the type of guy that when he didn't get his way he would just start being louder and louder until the other person conceded.<br />
<br />
Finally I just conceded.<br />
He wasn't worth my time.<br />
<br />
I look up and there are a handful of people watching in awe.<br />
I also see Jeff say "I told you so." which made me laugh as apparently Jeff played against him in the 1st game.<br />
<br />
At this point, I really didn't want to play anymore.<br />
<br />
I decided that I would just focus on my strategies in my last game and at least use it as a learning opportunity.<br />
I would find a way to get through it.<br />
<br />
Then I met my last opponent.<br />
<br />
He was a 9-10 year old boy, who was actually a son of another friend of ours.<br />
This was his first tournament, but he had been playing for a few years previously with his dad.<br />
It was apparent that he felt awkward being around people much older than him.<br />
<br />
He was running Necrons with an Overlord in a command barge, 2 units of Warriors in Ghost Arks, 2 Annihilation Barges and a unit of Warriors on foot.<br />
<br />
He deployed first and setup in a wedge formation with the HQ in the middle, Arks on both sides and barges on the edges. His foot Warriors were in a building in the back.<br />
<br />
I castled up in my corner with the Firewarriors in extremely good cover.<br />
<br />
Immediately I noticed the passion he had for the game.<br />
He was telling me about painting, and modeling, which unit was his favorite, and on and on. He was truly just happy to be playing the game.<br />
<br />
He knew all his Special Rules, and he knew all of mine.<br />
<br />
We started and I seized the initiative.<br />
<br />
Both Riptides Nova charged and both templates hit.<br />
Immediately both Annihilation Barges and one Ghost Ark go up in smoke.<br />
I felt horrible.<br />
<br />
Even through all the bad luck he was still upbeat and was just having a good time.<br />
<br />
Over the rest of the game I made sure to "forget" to some Nova Charges, forget to move or shoot certain units and try to shoot at his units that I knew I had no way of killing.<br />
<br />
I wanted to make the game as close as possible, because honestly It was the best game I ever played in.<br />
I didn't care if I won or lost and I completely forgot about the game before.<br />
<br />
In the end I think it ended up being a tie on objectives and I may have won on secondaries.<br />

When the game was over, he was the first one to offer a handshake and say good game.<br />
I was utterly amazed that this 9 year old boy was more professional and adult than the 30 something year old guy I played the game before.<br />

Turns out the guy I played in the first game ended up playing the Tyranids guy in the last game, so he also had some choice words about him as well.<br />
<br />
A bunch of us sat for awhile and talked with the tournament hosts and most everyone agreed that the Tyranid player would not be allowed back at any events.<br />
<br />
At the end of the day I walked away with a brand new Aegis Defense Line I won in the raffle and Capnmoe finished 1 point out of the top 3 thanks to a random rule dependency in another game.<br />

Going into this tournament I was completely hung over, was using and army I had almost zero experience with and ended up playing against one of the worst opponents I have ever played against, but the last game made it all worth while and I look forward to playing him again soon.</div>

Personally I like to wait a few rounds to thin out my opponent and then deploy it either behind my opponents lines or in cover on an objective. It adds an element of surprise that they weren't expecting and causes them to have to completely rethink their strategy mid game.<br />

Sadly...can't assault on turn 1, so I just have to wither the storm.<br />

In the end I held 3 objectives, Line Breaker, Slay the Warlord, First Blood, and was well ahead on kill points. Victory for the Necrons. That put me at 5/5 for the league, my best finish so far. This weekend I also managed to qualify for the final game of the Titan Tournament in March. Sisters have gotten SO much better. This was a close game. My opponent apparently forgot about his search lights until nearly the end of the game. With Imotekh making it night fight for the first few rounds, it could have been a game changer. I always say 40K is a game of remembering. Usually the player that remembers the most wins, and I remembered the most this game. Thats a win!<br />

Turn 1: Celestine moved forward to midfield. Shooting would see the death of the Soul Grinder to a Exorcist for First Blood. He also took out 2 Obliterators and one unit of Pink Horrors went to ground avoiding any casualties. The remaining Obliterator was lucky enough to make his leadership and held strong.<br />

I powered up my Princes and Keeper of Secrets and pushed forward. Shooting from the Princes killed 2 from the Sororitas Command Squad and the Obliterator got some revenge for his friends by taking out an Exorcist. The Keeper of Secrets charged St. Celestine and turned her into goo.</div>

Turn 2: Three of his Battle Sister units came in from reserve. All of which immediately disembarked from their Immolators looking to get some shots on the Daemon Princes. St. Celestine of course got back up and headed for the 2 units of Pink Horrors. Shooting knocked my Warlord Prince out of the sky leaving him out in the open. He would die to shots from the Battle Sisters. He also took 2 wounds from the Keeper of Secrets.<br />

Powers went up on my Prince and my Keeper. My 2 Heldrakes and 2 units of Chaos Space Marines both came in from reserve. Each unit of Chaos Space Marines headed into area terrain so they had saves from the Leman Russ. One Heldrake took interceptor fire and lost his bale flamer…sad times. The other came in near his Aegis Line and roasted the Guardsman as well as Vector Striking the Command Squad killing one. The Prince and Keeper each killed a unit of Battle Sisters.</div>

Turn 3: He failed the roll to bring his last Immolator in from reserves. Celestine continued her move towards the Pink Horrors. He fired almost everything he had into the Keeper of Secrets killing it. A few shots were taken at the Heldrakes to no avail. Celestine charged the Pink Horrors and won the combat leaving only a few Pink Horrors left.</div>

Iron Arm goes up on the remaining Prince. The damaged Heldrake flew off the board and Vector Struck an Immolator destroying it. The other Heldrake flew to the middle of the board and killed the last unit of Battle Sisters left on the board. The Prince moved up and assaulted what was left of the Guardsman and the Cannoness's unit. The Cannoness challenges and the Prince and she gets manhandled. Somehow they guardsman make their morale and stay in the combat. The second unit of Pink Horrors assaulted into combat with Celestine hoping to help cut the remainder of the first unit out of combat. They failed miserably and took heavy casualties but the combat continued. </div>

Turn 4: His final Immolator with Battle Sisters came in and he headed towards my table edge looking to get line breaker. His tanks moved forward from behind the aegis line to get a better shooting angle on my Chaos Space Marines. He took shots on them but they went to ground and only lost a couple. Celestine finished off the Pink Horrors and the Prince finished the Guardsman.<br />

The Heldrake with no Bale Flamer came back in and Vector Struck the rest of the Command Squad off the board. The other Heldrake Vector Struck an Immolater and wrecked it. The Prince cast Iron arm and assaulted into the Primaris Psyker. He of course smashed his face in.<br />

Turn 5: Celestine headed for the final Obliterator and a unit of Chaos Space Marines. The Leman Russ killed all but one of the Chaos Space Marines in the far area terrain. Like a champ, he made his leadership test. Luckily I managed to find him a spot that was out of line of site so he wouldn't be getting shot at for the rest of the game. One Exorcist killed the last Obliterator and the other took shots at the Prince killing him. His Immolators tried to shoot the Heldrake with the flamer but failed. He attempted to charge Celestine into the unit of Chaos Space Marines but was insta-killed by a lucky plasma shot.<br />

The broken flamer drake flew off the board again failing to do anything with his Vector Strikes. The Flamer Heldrake killed all but 1 of the Battle Sisters that were heading toward my board edge for line breaker and took a hull point from an Immolator with Vector Strikes. I rolled to see if the game went on and it did.<br />
<br />
Turn 6: At this point there was very little on the board. His Immolators all fired at my flamer Heldrake and managed to connect, blowing it up. His Exorcists and Leman Russ managed to wipe out the one unit of Chaos Space Marines they could still see. This left me with 1 Chaos Space Marine model on the board out of line of site of anything. Thank god he was good at hiding. His single Battle Sister left moved into cover in my deployment zone. With the sister getting line breaker the score would be 12-12.<br />
<br />
My flamerless Heldrake came back on the board and Vector Struck the last Battle Sister and finally wiped out the unit. That would shift the score to 13-11. He rolled and the game continued.<br />

Turn 7: He would have needed to wipe me off the board to win and sadly he failed to kill the last remaining drake with his Immolators and he just couldn't get line of site on that last Chaos Space Marine.<br />

Well this is something new, and what looks to be the future of GW.<br />
Micro transactions and digital releases. I weep for those that still don't have smart phones or tablets.<br />

Everyone pretty much knows the rules for him by now, if not they are as follows:<br />

- Almost same price as a 20 pack of Flesh Hounds<br />
- Same stat line as a base Daemon Prince, except that he is Leadership 10, which means he's the Warlord.<br />
- Only has a 4++, no armor save whatsoever.<br />

- Eternal Warrior and Shrouded<br />
- Mastery Level 3 psyker, has access to all Telepathy powers<br />
- Weapon has Fleshbane, Armourbane, is Master-Crafted, and give him +1 Strength<br />
- If any enemy unit fails a morale check, he gets an extra D3 warp charges for that turn only</div>

- Warlord trait applies a -1 modifier to your opponents Fear checks</div>

- He has no mark of any of the 4 Greater Daemons.</div>

I think the model looks pretty rad and have always considered purchasing one to use as a Daemon Prince in 40k, I could just never find the damn thing. Other than that, I am officially <b>not </b>on the band wagon. Yes new shiny things are always cool at first glance, but I like to dig deeper into the murk to find out what its about.</div>

First off, I love his Telepathy mastery. With access to everything he becomes one of the best support characters in the game. Able to buff or debuff as needed every turn., he provides high adaptability in all scenarios which is extremely nice when you don't know ahead of time who or what you will be in competition against.</div>

Eternal Warrior and Shrouded are also nice here in terms of keeping him alive...but how reliable is it?</div>

In my opinion, its not enough to justify his cost. </div>

At the end of the day, he is still a Toughness 5 creature with 4 wounds and only a 4++ to save his ass.</div>

If my Firewarriors get Line of Sight on him, they'll be forcing grounding test on him, or Pathfinders can with Markerlights. After that he has a 50/50 chance to save whatever else I shoot him with. Hell, you could almost take him down with a small unit of Pathfinders and Firewarriors.</div>

Oh! And the fact that Tau have this weapon available to half of their army called a Smart Missile System. It's just a S5 weapon that ignores cover...and doesn't require Line of Sight. </div>

Another major issue is that he becomes your Warlord over Fateweaver. This is completely unacceptable as any competitive Daemon player will tell you that Fateweaver's Warlord trait is game changing in and of itself.</div>

Also he has no "mark" which means he doesn't unlock Daemon Princes, and since you are still running Fateweaver for obvious reasons, your locked into Tzeentch Princes. </div>

Which aren't bad, they just aren't my first choice.</div>

I think if you run the Tzeentch Princes, then you are also basically locked into rolling Biomancy on them, and hoping for Endurance just so you can cast it on Be'Lakor. </div>

Which has now turned your army into..."If 1 happens then I might be able to do 2, if 2 happens then I might be able to do 3, if 3 happens then I might be able to 4, and I need 4 to happen so I can win."</div>

Daemons are based on this strategy and the key to a good list is limiting the number of these steps, while trying to maintain, if one of the steps does fail. </div>

Personally, I will stick with my Mastery Level 3, 2 x Greater Reward, Keeper of Secrets. </div>

He costs, 90 points less....90!!...Unlocks Lash Princes in the Heavy slot, Still provides me 3 Telepathy power per turn, has a MUCH better stat line, Fleet + 3", and Hatred Eldar.</div>
